In the last six months we have forgotten what it’s like to go on a trip, buy last minute tickets and, above all, travel without worries. With Covid-19, this issue has become quite a challenge. You can no longer know which country or region is going to close its borders or what new measures or restrictions will come into force to stop the pandemic. Therefore, in this article, we present you a selection of sources and maps that you can consult to obtain information about the restrictions to travel in the world.
1. Covid Entry Check
Covid Entry Check is a website that informs you about travel restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic according to your place of origin and destination. You just need to enter this information in its simple interface and click on Show me. Next, the tool will indicate the state of the borders, the risk levels and the requirements that you must meet when you arrive, such as testing and / or a mandatory quarantine, among others. In the event that a border is closed, you can activate an alert to be notified after its reopening. Additionally, don’t forget to review the measures imposed in the country you are returning to. This website updates the data from the information published by the governments at the local level.
2. Kayak Interactive Map
The interactive map of Kayak shows you the travel restrictions by country using a color scheme. By clicking on each country, you will see the details of the entry restrictions by air and the instructions that you must follow upon arrival; such as submitting a proof, quarantine, fill out a form with your travel itinerary, etc. At the end, you will find the updated date and the official source of the information, which will allow you to verify if there were any last minute changes.
3. Google Maps
Like other services and tools, Google Maps added a new feature: a COVID-19 layer. This feature allows you to plan your trips in a city, know where to wear a mask or see how many new cases of coronavirus have been detected in the last seven days for every 100,000 inhabitants in a city or region. This option can be very useful if you are going to another city for work or family and you are not aware of the current situation in this place. Also, if you use the app to take public transport, it will show you how busy certain areas are at certain times. To activate the function, you just need to open your Google Maps;
1. On your mobile device, open Google Maps Google Maps.
2. At the top, tap Layers Layers and then COVID-19 info.
