Following the Little Known Box review, which is a reasonably new subscription box service, this blog is focusing on an established beauty subscription service called Glossy Box. Each box is delivered every month and contains 5 different beauty items which are generally full-size and tailored to your beauty preferences. You can subscribe for 3, 6 or 12 months and there are also limited edition boxes and a gifting option.
I have tried Glossy Box a few times on and off but have never maintained a subscription with them as there are so many great subscription services to choose from now! However, I decided to order a recent box because Glossy Box provided an offer whereby you could receive a bonus box if you subscribed, so I thought why not see what is delivered?
Both boxes came quickly in pretty packaging and contained a good cross-section of beauty products:
In the top box, which was the bonus box, I received the following items:
- A bio-cellulose facial treatment mask by 111Skin
- A set of Quattro for women raspberry rain disposable razors by Wilkinson Sword
- A root boost hair thickening spray by Nanogen
- A jumbo eye pencil in Bubble 07 by De Bruyere Beaute
- A Raffaello sweet by Ferrero
- A large tapered blending brush by Ruby Professional
In the main box, I received the following:
- L’eau de Rose by Jeanne Arthes
- A noir eternae youth potion face scrub by La Theorie des Volcans
- An ultimate blends honey treasures strength restorer balm by Garnier
- A paint pot in Fade to Griege by Ciate London
- A semi matte lipstick in Bossy by MDM Flow
For the price paid, I was really pleased with the variety of products! So far I have tested the perfume, the lipstick, the face scrub, the blending brush, the eye pencil and I have swatched the nail polish. The perfume is a distinct but not overpowering rose scent and lasts for most of the day without having to respray, the lipstick is a perfect nude colour and I love the colour and finish. It did need topping up during the day after eating and drinking but generally, I was very happy with it. The face scrub can be used as an exfoliator and a mask – I have used it as a scrub so far and it is lovely! It has a gorgeous scent and leaves the skin feeling soft and plump! The blending brush is also another great item, it works well in the crease of the eye to blend and layer different colours. The nail polish is a lovely mauve colour and has really good staying power without any chipping after a few days and the eye pencil is a gorgeous brown-grey shade with a subtle shimmer. It’s easy to use and soft and creamy so it will not pull the delicate skin of the eyelid.
I’ve yet to try the other products but I am particularly looking forward to testing the facial treatment mask and the root boosting hairspray, as my hair always needs volume!
Overall, I am pretty impressed with both Glossy Boxes and I will definitely keep an eye on future boxes to try. The selection of products is very good with something to suit everyone and everything is good quality, generally made by well-known brands. As with a lot of beauty subscription services, you can cancel at any time without penalty and they also create limited edition boxes you can purchase outside your subscription. If you love trying new beauty boxes I would highly recommend trying Glossy Box and it is definitely worth signing up to the newsletter so you can be notified of and make the most of the offers like this one!
